Q. Who is responsible for starting this?
A. Edward Ewert and Gabrielle Savage. After traveling much of the world, and having many incredible experiences together, we decided that it was time to give something back.

Q. What's the deal with the fish and the number 13?
A. Nothing really, it is not intended to be a Christian symbol or anything else. I just like fish and the number 13.

Q. Is this a "religious" organization?
A. No. I don't care what you believe in as long as you believe in helping correct a few of the inequities in the world. We would rather concentrate on completing a project than the politics of organized religion.

Q. Do I have to be a member or join something?
A. Nope. If you feel compelled to help on a project please jump right in.

Q. How do you pick projects?
A. We gravitate to what moves us. Generally this has to do with educational or environmental concerns. We accept ideas from all alliance members and decide as a group what we will pursue, that way, the greatest number of people can participate.

Q. I want to show up in force with my "13 Fish" attire. Do you have cool products for sale?
A. They are currently being mulled-over/designed. T-Shirts and mugs will likely be first, and depending on demand, other items will follow. All profits will go to current projects.

Q. Do you have non-profit status?
A. Not yet. This is a loose alliance of like-minded people who are just working together to make some good things happen. If the need to incorporate and seek non-profit status arises I will make it happen.

Q. There are so many charities out there, what makes 13 Fish different?
A. I noticed that there are many people that want to help, but the bewildering number of causes sometimes creates a barrier to action. 13 Fish will try to make the projects specific enough that you will know what you are working towards. Instead of the broad strokes of AIDS or poverty, it will be, helping Rwandan coffee farmers get their product to market, creating a children's library in Nicaragua, feeding the homeless in your home town, or maybe just helping maintain a nature trail in California. The possibilities are indeed endless.

If it moves you, make it happen.
